Bing Webmaster CLI

Introduction

Meet Bing Webmaster CLI (bwt), an independent, unofficial open-source CLI for Bing Webmaster Tools, built for coding agents and people.

Bing Webmaster CLI (bwt) is a command-line interface for Bing Webmaster Tools. Read search performance and crawl health, submit URLs, sitemaps, and page content, notify search engines with IndexNow, and manage site settings from your terminal.

It is built mainly for coding agents and works just as well at the keyboard. Every command can print JSON, writes can be previewed with --dry-run, and --read-only blocks every change.

The binary is bwt. One Bing Webmaster API key covers every site in your account, and bwt auth login keeps it in your OS keychain.

What it covers

  • Search performance: top queries and pages, clicks and impressions by day, query and page drill-downs, and a summary over a stated window.
  • Crawl health: daily crawl stats, crawl issues with the bitmask decoded, crawl rate and boost, URL details, inbound links, and Fetch as Bingbot.
  • Submission: URLs (one at a time or batched), full page content, sitemaps and feeds, and quota.
  • IndexNow: key generation and checks, and submissions from arguments, a file, or a sitemap filtered by date.
  • Site settings: sites and verification, users and roles, URL parameters, blocked URLs, preview blocks, geo-targeting, and deep-link blocks.
  • Keyword research: impressions, weekly history, and related queries for any market.
  • Anything else: bwt api calls any Bing Webmaster method directly, and bwt api methods lists every method with its read or write effect.

Each of the 59 current methods in the Bing Webmaster JSON API has a command. The API coverage page maps them one by one.
